General Meeting Minutes

DeCordova Bend Playday, April 9, 2008
President Chris Duncan called the meeting to order. She announced that membership cards for each club were on the Director’s table and copies of the Directory for 2008 were at the end of the table for pick-up by club representatives. Minutes from the March meeting were read and approved. President Duncan advised that minutes will be posted to the web site and if anyone identifies needed corrections, notify her or the secretary prior to the next play date. The Treasurer reported that all clubs have paid dues for the year, and there is a balance on hand as of March 31, 2008, of $2,960.02.
Rita expressed appreciation for everyone persevering in spite of the weather. President Duncan thanked Scott, Jeremy and Daren—the score cards had the CTWGA logo printed on them. She also thanked Terry Pattenaude for lunch and all the volunteers who helped Mary Gage and Barbara Creamer, as well as the people who loaned golf carts.
Eight first-time players were recognized and given one ball each. President Duncan welcomed back Betsy Torman following her recovery from bypass surgery.
There was an announcement about the White Bluff Bluebonnet tournament coming up May 5; it will be a 2-person partnership. Anyone interested should contact Susie Quiggins right away.
President Duncan called everyone’s attention to page 21, #13 in the Directory regarding proper attire for play.
President Duncan reminded representatives that the play day cards for May were mailed; the date for mailing of entry fees is April 26. The event will be at Willow Brook in Tyler.
Mable Peruta announced that there were some discrepancies in handicaps shown on the cards, and some handicaps were changed in accordance with USGA guidelines, resulting in some players being in different flights and some not having the net score calculated by the foursome.
